GOODS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE

This policy provides cover for loss or damage to various types of goods while in transit by road, rail or any inland waterway within the geographical area set out in the policy.  Cover may be All Risks or for specified perils and may be taken for specific consignments or annually.

Types Of Cover

1.       All Risks.  This is an all risks cover subject to the normal GIT policy exclusions.  It is a wider cover hence we must be careful when quoting for this cover

b)       Name of proposer
c)       Mode of carriage
d)       Packing
e)       Destination
f)       Limit per carry
g)       Annual Carry

Perils covered under the goods in transit policy:

1.) Road/Rails Risks Cover Only

Fire   
Lightning                   
Breakage of bridges      
Collision
Accidental overturning
Derailment

2.) All Risks Cover

Water/Rain damage
Theft, pilferage and shortages
All perils covered under item 1 above
